Thrust of argument: Western culture and its colonies take for granted the idea that humans are super-intelligent (a fallacy) and therefore showing them ads of food and confection will only make them want it if they already know they bodily need it. Direction of resistance / implied resistance: Okay. In fact, they don't take that for granted exactly - they act as though it should be both taken for granted AND taken as untrue.

Removal of resistance: For otherwise advertising would be worthless - if people were not implicitly understood to simply be manipulated by signals. Unification: You can wait for the ad industry to be criminalised or you can learn to ignore the bullshit and stop eating so much stuff! FFS.
